    White tarps are used for many applications such as, snow covers, boat covers and ice rink liners. Our super heavy duty white tarps are a favorite with ice hockey enthusiasts who want to build that backyard ice rink.

    What Are White Tarps Used For?

    The white tarps have many great uses other than ice rink liner tarps. If hay bales are left outside in the open weather, they could be seriously damaged. The white tarps are used as hay bale covers if the regular hay tarps can not be afforded. After all the hard work done by farmers to plant and cut the hay, protecting the hay bales with white tarpaulins is a wise move. White color stands out clearly in an open field. However, there are other reasons for choosing this color rather than blue or green.

    Scientifically, white is known as a good reflector of light and weak absorber of heat. So, white tarpaulins tend to reflect much of the sunlight and absorb little heat. These features are important when it comes to sun protection. The heat from sunlight is capable of destroying the nutrients of hay as well as many other application needs.

    So, a good reflector and low heat absorber like white is appropriate. If you check the market, you would come across white tarps of various materials like canvas, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene and vinyl. A vinyl tarp is very durable even under very strong weather conditions. Such a tarp is also resistant to humidity, moisture and ultraviolet rays.

    You can also use white poly tarps to cover farming equipment or machinery. It is normal for building contractors to use white tarpaulins to protect and cover their unfinished building works or equipment. Since they can withstand strong weather conditions including below zero temperatures, they are suitable as covers during bad cold seasons. White tarps can be used for protecting and covering tarp tents which enables the undercover to keep cool. The white tarps also cover unfinished building works especially during bad winter seasons. These tarpaulins are good reflectors of light and low absorbers of heat, making them suitable covers for bales of hay.
